ABCFamily’s “Knock First”
C. Fitz was the supervising producer and showrunner, who oversaw all of the creative, network relations, and budgeting for the new unscripted ABCFamily strip show (daily) series. “Knock First”, a half-hour reality-makeover series with the following concept: teens kick their parents out of the house and in two consecutive shooting days our design team and the teens completely redo their space and make it fabulous. Room designs ranged from a working skateboard park to a live arboretum. C. Fitz was responsible for approving all designs, crew hires, discovering young designers (Taniya Nayak & John Gidding of current HGTV fame), budgeting each of the 103 shows ($20 million during the course of the series) and producing a profit for the show each season while increasing ABCFamily’s viewership in the targeted age range. She worked as a network liaison throughout each episode’s creative process, product placement, building the show’s website, and producing the network’s on-line contests. SHOW DETAILS: KF had an intense shooting schedule of two shows per week and a 10-day turn-around for post per episode for over one year and a half.
